![]() ![]() There’s some comics precedent for it, and it would certainly be a big. from the future theoretical physicist that trapped Savitar in the Speed Force. This season’s big bad has been Barry Allen all along Well not exactly Barry. In The Flash Season 3 20th episode, Barry Allen figures out the real. Four years after killing Iris, Savitar slaughters nearly all of Barrys time remnants except for his younger self before being banished into the Speed Force. When Barry accidentally travels to the future and sees Iris killed by Savitar, he becomes desperate to change the future to prevent that from happening. Right now, the most popular theory among fans is that Savitar is none other than Barry Allen himself, only from the future. At the end of episode 20 of The Flash, the CW series finally revealed Savitar’s true identity. Jax and Professor Stein originally discovered the message in a secret room during “Shogun” while they stayed behind on the ship. In an erased future, he kills Iris West right in front of Barry Allen in order to push him to the point of mental collapse and head down the path to becoming Savitar. It’s a bit long, but it ties in almost everything. This brings new potency to that message that Jax and Professor Stein discovered aboard the Waverider way back in Episode 3 of Legends of Tomorrow’s second season. Answer (1 of 13): I don’t think just a simple future Barry being the Savitar will justify all the content from the previous episodes. On last night’s episode of The Flash, titled “I Know Who You Are,” spoilers Savitar revealed himself to be none other than a scarred (emotionally and physically) future version of Barry himself. For me, answers can't come soon enough. The secret of Savitar’s identity is finally out, and now the Legends of Tomorrow and the rest of the Arrowverse are probably slapping themselves in the forehead for not putting it all together sooner: The cryptic warning from the Barry Allen of 2056 was probably as much about Savitar as it was Flashpoint. One great, unexpected, way for The Flash to end the Savitar saga would be to have it end exactly as predicted: With Iris being killed, and Barry being set on the path to. Savitar is still on the loose, and its clear that the futuristic and damaged (inside and out) version of Barry Allen is hellbent on killing her and corrupting the past iteration of himself. There is no simple explanation: the answer is a complex web of time travel, time remnants, and speculation to fill in the blanks. ![]() Fans have been speculating about how Barry could go this bad since the episode that exposed the evil speedster. Now, the team will have to figure out how a future version of the Flash will become Savitar in the first place. It was important to unmask Savitar if the team had any chance of defeating him. How can future Flash be Savitar? There are many complicated pieces of this speed puzzle. This unmasking has set fans spinning and trying to put together the pieces. After finally putting the pieces together, Barry Allen came to the realization that Savitar is actually a future version of himself. The show had been teasing several different possibilities before that, but in "I Know Who You Are," Savitar was finally revealed to be a future version of the Flash. The identity of the God Of Speed, who has been threatening the life of Iris, remained a mystery until the May 2 episode. This season of The Flash has progressively gotten darker and darker with the vicious Savitar serving as the big bad. ![]()
